How do I stop a direct debit?

Direct Debit on an account

We can stop a direct debit which is set up on your transaction account immediately upon your request. You can request a stop by calling us on 1300 747 747, visiting a Branch or sending a secure email through Online Banking or the Mobile App. We will send you a confirmation email of the stop and a Direct Debit Cancellation Request form which you need to complete and return to us if you want us to cancel the Direct Debit Authority.

Direct Debit on a Visa Credit or Visa Debit card

To stop a direct debit which is set up on your Visa Credit or Visa Debit card, please complete the Visa Card Cancellation Request form and forward to the merchant/business before the next transaction is scheduled. Please note, some merchants/businesses may require a longer notice period so you should check with them to ensure you are abiding by any contractual arrangements.

If the debit continues, we can contact the merchant/business on your behalf, provided we have a copy of the original request form which was sent to them. Additionally, we can cancel the card immediately and issue you with a new one.
