Stryde4 Day: A Day of Community Impact

At Qudos Bank, we're proud to support our employees in giving back to the wider community through volunteer leave, which is why we were excited to see so many of our people take part in Stryde4Day.

Our staff had the opportunity to either walk or paddle along Sydney’s iconic coastline, all while raising money for the charities we nominated, including the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Children’s Medical Research Institute (Jeans for Genes), and the Hanna Foundation.

Brendan Wright, our CEO, also joined in by tackling the 21km walk. He shared, “Stryde4Day was a wonderful experience —not only to connect with our people, but to give back to communities in need of extra support. It was great to complete the 21km walk; participate in the activation events like swimming across the Clovelly inlet, ice bath at Maroubra, and to have my wife join me. Very fortunate to be able to take in the beautiful views of Sydney’s coastline while raising funds for charities making a real difference.”

Qudos Bank employees who participated in Stryde4Day also shared their inspiring stories from this impactful event.

Louis Stergio, our Risk Advisor - Operations, reflected, “I had the privilege of supporting the Hanna Foundation, which does amazing work helping vulnerable Australians access mental health programs. It was a great experience to walk along Sydney’s coastline, knowing I was contributing to improving people’s mental health.”

Beckie Unal, our Dispute Resolution Specialist, added, “Participating in the training program for Stryde4Day was fantastic. Before the event, I managed to go on some amazing walks, which helped me get my steps up and boost both my physical and mental wellbeing. It was an incredible opportunity.”

We raised a total of $15,279 from our fundraising efforts — well done to everyone involved.
