How does QSafe SMS work?

Previously made transfers and BPAY payments

Any BPAY or transfers you've previously made before are automatically saved to your favourites.

As these transactions have already been authenticated and are protected by your 1st layer of authentication – your log in and password, a 2nd layer of authentication is now not required. Note: Please clear any old or unused favourites no longer required.

New transfers and BPAYs

This is where a stronger identity check is required and we'll ask you to provide a 2nd layer of authentication - a 6 digit code which we'll send via text message to your Australian mobile.

Note: Only one SMS code is required for each online banking session (and only if making new transfers or payments for example). Once you have entered a QSafe code you can continue with your banking without any further SMS codes required.
