At Qudos Bank, we are committed to supporting a range of environmental initiatives aimed at combating climate change and reducing carbon emissions. By partnering with like-minded organisations, we strive to protect the environment and ensure a healthier planet for future generations. Additionally, we are actively enhancing our banking services to minimise our carbon footprint wherever possible.
As of September 2023, Qudos Bank is proud to have achieved Climate Active certification for our business operations.
Climate Active certification means we’ve reduced our emissions where possible and compensated for the remainder by investing in carbon offset projects to fully balance all emissions for our corporate activities.
To showcase our commitment to environmental responsibility, we’re proud to have purchased carbon offsets worth over $61,000 in 2023 on one of Tasman Environmental Markets’ (TEM) Human-Induced Regeneration (HIR) projects in southwest Queensland. The purpose of this project is to focus on restoring native vegetation and the reduction of carbon emissions.
At Qudos Bank, we recognise that there is an urgent need to combat climate change. By purchasing carbon offsets from TEM’s Native Forest Regeneration project, this promotes biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration for native wildlife. Engaging in this partnership reinforces our dedication to creating a sustainable future for generations to come.
In 2023, we donated $15,000 to ReForest Now to support their ongoing work in the regeneration of endangered rainforests in Australia.
We also made a donation of $10,000 in 2022 to support ReForest Now’s 5-year Banyula (“Place of many trees”) project to restore the Booyong Nature Reserve near Clunes, NSW. The reserve represents less than 1% of the original extent of the Big Scrub rainforest, which used to cover most of the Northern Rivers region. It has been identified as a critically endangered ecosystem.
ReForest Now have partnered up with landholder, Saratini Farms, to restore the ecosystem by planting 300,000 rainforest trees with up to 160 diverse species by mid-2023, and maintain these 300,000 rainforest trees by fighting weed competition over the next 5 years.
To learn more about the project, please watch the video. We’re excited that our contribution will be going towards the project and look forward to the positive outcomes ReForest Now will create as a result of their efforts.
Taking practical action against the use of paper is important to us at Qudos Bank. The growing reliance in digital services has allowed us to go paperless with our Annual Report, myQ Newsletter, important notifications and now statements, reducing environmental pollution meaning more savings back to our customers and back to the planet.
We encourage customers to opt for eStatements wherever possible to help us on our paperless journey.
In August 2023, we introduced DocuSign for our loan contracts to be digitised. Since its launch, we have saved 350,000 pages from printing out our contracts.
We aim to continue building on a paperless environment by communicating with our customers electronically (when possible), that’s why it is important to ensure your details are up to date. To find out how to update your details visit the FAQs section of our website.

We are continually looking for new ways to improve our sustainable practices.
We’ve worked with Greenfleet for over 15 years and admire the ongoing initiatives they have to continue protecting our climate through forest restoration.
As of 2023, we have now offset more than 16,000 tonnes of carbon through Greenfleet’s reforestation projects, resulting in the planting of around 56,000 native trees. We also made a generation donation of over $21,000 in the same year to support their work in fighting the impacts of climate change through restoring our forests in Australia and New Zealand.
Our people each year also volunteer at Greenfleet’s annual Tree Planting event, which is an opportunity for them to bond with their colleagues, as well as offset more carbon by planting more trees.
