CEO message from Brendan Wright

Introducing the next evolution of Qudos Bank

In this edition of myQ, I’m very excited to launch our refreshed brand to the Qudos Bank community, as well as share an update on the proposed merger with Bank Australia. In addition to this, I will also be sharing an important update regarding the changes we’re making to our phone banking and cheque services.

A new look and a refreshed digital experience

This year we celebrate the 65th year of Qudos Bank. Now more than ever, we are dedicated to investing in our rich brand, legacy and heritage. As a customer-owned bank, we are proud to be continuously evolving to meet and exceed our members expectations. Each new evolution of our Bank has come with an enduring commitment to place our members at the centre of everything we do.

From July, our members will enjoy an enhanced digital experience - making it easier to explore our products, bank online and communicate with our team. Our new logo, updated colour scheme and design has been rolled out across our website, apps and internet banking channels. Each change has been curated to make the journey to reaching your financial potential just that little bit more simple and seamless.

Next phase of the proposed merger between Qudos Bank and Bank Australia

In May, we announced that we would be progressing to the next phase of due diligence on the proposed merger between Qudos Bank and Bank Australia.  We are currently into the merger planning phase and preparing all relevant documents in our application for regulatory approval and a member vote.

We have worked collaboratively with Bank Australia on  the various workstreams required to support this next phase, involving our  people and streamlining our collective efforts. This approach allows  us to make highly informed and considered decisions regarding the potential future operations of the proposed merged entity if approved.

As a merger of equals, our shared goal is to leverage the strengths of both institutions, ensuring a smooth transition and a stronger, more resilient organisation for our members well into the future.

We are committed to keeping our members informed throughout this process. Your support is vital as we move forward to a future where the combined capabilities of Qudos Bank and Bank Australia can better serve our members and the communities in which we operate.

The way you pay and bank is changing

An update on Phone Banking and Cheques

With more Australians choosing simpler and safer digital banking options we have seen significant declines in cheque and phone banking use. Additionally, the Government has also mandated the phasing out of cheques by 2030.

To get ahead of these changes and take advantage of ongoing improvements in digital banking, we have chosen to transition away from both cheques and telephone banking on August 30th, 2024 to ensure all Members are set up to manage their banking online.

We understand that this is a change that will impact some of our members and we’re here to assist you in making the most of other ways to bank with us.

We have included some FAQs and helpful instructional videos on how to navigate our Online Banking and Mobile App to help with the transition. It also includes details about setting up your online accounts, arranging payments and transfers, and resetting your password.

Please know that our team are here to help so if you have any questions or would like to talk, please reach out to our Customer Service Representatives on 1300 747 747 or visit a local branch.
